Season six has come to a close and now it’s time to talk
about the season as a whole and the finale. If you have not seen any of season
six or the season finale, spoilers ahead.
King’s Landing:
Nothing much happened when the High Sparrow came and started
changing the city. I think Jonathon Pryce is an outstanding actor but he sadly
wasn’t as good as he normally is. After awhile I wanted him to die but Tommen
stopped that from happening. Every scene in the city became very boring.
Cersei’s plan to kill the High Sparrow and the rest of his people along with
Margaery as collateral damage with wildfire makes no sense. Only Jamie knows
about the wildfire and it doesn’t make sense for him to bring it up to Cersei.
With Tommen dead now means that Gendry is the only Baratheon even though he’s a
bastard. Does that mean we’ll see him next season? I really hope so.
Mereen:
The scenes between Dany and Tyrion were so great. They
understand one another and also learn from each other. The scenes were perfect
in each episode that focused on the city but I felt like Dany shouldn’t stay
there another season. FINALLY she’s out of there and now off to Westros with a
huge army including a fleet of ships! The scene where Dany gives Tyrion the
right hand of the queen pen made me so happy cause even his own father didn’t
respect him but now a woman of royalty respects him with not caring about his
appearance. I doubt Jorah will find a cure for his disease sadly. The scene with
him telling Dany what was going on with him felt like a goodbye.
Winterfell:
The Wall is always the best part of the show cause there’s
always conflicts going on there. There wasn’t any White Walkers facing the
Knight’s Watch but we got the Battle of the Bastards which was phenomenal.
Sansa now knows how to play The Game of Thrones. Seeing her grow to become a
smart and wise woman is just outstanding. Jon Snow coming back from dead was
the first thing everyone wanted on the show in the first episode. After he came
back and killed the men who betrayed men, I knew he didn’t want to be Lord
Commander anymore. He knows it’s not for him anymore. But now he’s Lord of the
North! I feel like Littlefinger is going to try to betray Jon which will get
him killed.
Arya’s Quest:
Arya’s whole trying to become a assassin went way too fast.
The writers should’ve had her do a couple of assassinations on people who
deserve to die then meet Lady Crane. Have her get stabbed in the season finale
then next season she can fight her way out. I did not except the girl talking
to Walder Frey was going to be Arya. I mean who would? Now that she killed
Walder Frey, she can go back home. I hope she runs into Gendry and the guy who
trained her how to fight with a sword.
The Hound’s Quest:
Finally he’s back! The Hound wasn’t in
the finale surprisingly but I guarantee his story will be great to see. After
killing the men who murdered Ian McShane’s character and his people, he didn’t say anything
about his next plan. I think he’s going to get word that his brother, the Mountain,
is in King’s Landing. He will probably kill the Mountain for what he did to him
or die trying.
Bran’s Quest:
After Bran was not in season five, we get to see his story
and it’s actually worth it. He can time travel into different explanations like
how White Walkers are made, Hordor’s past, (RIP Hordor) and Jon Snow is part
Stark and Targaryen! R+L=J. The fight scene with the White Walkers and the tree
people was pretty intense. My only problem with his story is got to do with
Benjen. He just came and gone. I would’ve liked it if he took Bran closer to
The Wall or somewhere they could see it. Not just leaving him there so a army
of White Walkers can kill him.
Sam’s Quest:
I wander how Sam’s story is going to be relevant. They
didn’t show a whole a lot of what’s going on in the castle he is at.
Overall, I thought the season finale was pretty good but it
has a lot of unanswered questions. The
Battle of the Bastards is still without a doubt the best. The rest of the season was not as great. I hope next season is better.
